We love our horror, here at Biff Bam Pop!

I know for a fact that there are those of us here (writers and readers) who will check out every. single. horror. related film that gets released in theatres or on Blu-Ray. Yes, even the really cheesy ones. There are those of us here who regularly write (and publish!) horror-centric stories of short and long fiction. And there are those of us here who alter their social plans based on certain Sunday night undead TV viewing. Yes. The Walking Dead. The comic book-turned-television phenomenon.

That series’ creator, Robert Kirkman, returns to the comic book horror genre once again with the brand new series, Outcast.

And all of you lovers of horror can find out about it right after this jump!

It’s not like The Walking Dead is Robert Kirkman’s only claim to fame. Sure, it’s the title that is most synonymous with his name due the success of the AMC television series, now entering its fifth season alongside a spin-off series, which is also in the works. The writer is also known for his superhero comic series Invincible, as well as the crime series Thief of Thieves (which, incidentally, is also in development as a television series for AMC).

But Outcast is Kirkman’s return to the horror genre.

Darkly illustrated by Paul Azaceta, Outcast tells the story of Kyle Barnes, he of a tragic past and an unusual gift. Barnes, you see, has been plagued by demonic possessions all of his life. Only now are answers to long-standing questions rising to the surface. And the end to all life on earth could be the largest scare of all.

The publisher, Image Comics, is comparing Outcast to both The Exorcist and The Sixth Sense so you know it’s going to be full of dread, heavy atmosphere and suspense. Kirkman is known for his free-flowing plots that have character at the center of story, so expect the unexpected with the new monthly series.

The first issue of Outcast, a double-sized one (priced as a regular-sized book) has already sold out at the publisher level and there’s a second print on the way, showing a huge demand for the story.

Don’t be the one person left out – make the run to your local comic book shop today and pick up Outcast #1, one of the most eagerly anticipated comic books released this year! Frights abound!
